As part of IENE's Conference "Energy Transition Targets for RES and Energy Efficiency: Opportunity or Obstacle", Thomas Lamnidis of Lamnidis Law participated as a moderator in the session "Financial and development tools, the role of Green Certificates and Bilateral Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)". The session's participants included Maria Koulouvari, Director of Guarantees of Origin & Electricity Disclosure at DAPEEP; Alexandros Panagiotakis, Head of Project Finance at Piraeus Bank; and Miltos Aslanoglou, Chairman of the Board of AirEnergy SA.

The participants discussed the sector's evolving operating model of RES and how project financing is affected, financing risks in Corporate PPAs or merchant contracts, as well as the effect of incoming projects on market configuration. The session's agenda also included insights on how Guarantees of Origin operate, the weaknesses of the Regulatory Framework, and the sector's operating environment.
