Regulatory Advisory to the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) on Natural Gas Market Unbundling

Lamnidis Law advised the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) in 2025, within the framework of the Framework Contract for the provision of regulatory and legal support for the development of the natural gas market in Cyprus, led by VIS Economic & Energy Consultants.

Acting as Legal Advisor to CERA, Lamnidis Law supported the Authority in the preparation of its Draft Decision on the Guidelines for the functional unbundling of the natural gas activities of the Natural Gas Public Company (DEFA) / CyGas, a key regulatory instrument for the organisation of the Cypriot natural gas sector.

The Draft Decision is firmly grounded in EU energy law and applicable regulatory guidelines and contributes to the implementation of Cyprus’s energy policy objectives, ensuring effective market regulation and compliance with the EU unbundling framework.
