International Economic Law
Specialist legal counsel to multilateral institutions, the European Union and sovereign governments on cross-border economic and infrastructure mandates.
Practice Overview
Overview
Lamnidis Law's international economic law practice acts at the intersection of public international law, EU regulatory frameworks, and cross-border economic policy. Our work spans interstate agreements, EU-mandated technical assistance projects, sovereign-level energy and infrastructure mandates, regulatory capacity-building for emerging market governments, and complex international arbitration in transboundary commercial disputes. We have served as legal advisor to the European Union, the European Commission, the World Bank, the EBRD, the EIB and the Asian Development Bank, alongside multiple sovereign governments across Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Middle East.
The defining feature of this practice is the multi-jurisdictional layering. A single mandate typically involves EU acquis communautaire compliance, national law of one or more sovereign states, interstate or treaty-based frameworks, and the procedural rules of multilateral institutions. We are positioned to navigate that layering directly, drafting harmonisation legislation, structuring interstate arrangements, advising on legal roadmaps for energy and infrastructure corridors, supporting feasibility studies on transboundary projects, and representing clients in international arbitration proceedings. Few Greek law firms operate at this scale, and fewer still have meaningful presence in the jurisdictions where these mandates actually take effect.
